Hotel and restaurant chairs from David Edward
Published by Lizza November 26th, 2007 in UncategorizedWhat do the Degrees Bar & Lounge, Delmonico’s Steak House, Briarwood Country Club, and Palette Restaurant have in common? They all feature restaurant and bar room furniture – chairs, specifically – from David Edward, a second-generation, family-owned company in Baltimore, Maryland. They have also done installations for other establishments, not just dining facilities.
For the Degrees Lounge & Bar, located in the Ritz Carlton hotel in Washington, D.C., they installed their 77123 2-Fly pull-up chairs. Designed by Max Pearson, they are made with solid maple and are available with coordinating lounges, ottomans, and benches.
For Delmonico’s Steak House at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, the company provided custom dining room chairs, which, like their other creations, seem to favor solid and tasteful simplicity over flamboyance.
Hawthorn lounge chairs, as well as Madison pull-up armchairs and custom-made armless Madison stacking chairs are featured at the Briarwood Country Club, while the Palette Restaurant in Washington, D.C., sports David Edward’s 76023 Radio City Side chair with exposed back rail. The Kitano Hotel in New York City, on the other hand, has the furniture maker’s Ribbon Chair, designed by Chhada Siembieda, in one its dining facilities.
It seems fairly obvious that the establishments that have chairs made by David Edward are fairly upscale. No neighborhood bistro or corner café in their list of installations, it seems. Still, looking at their chairs for hotels and restaurants, it struck me that while appearing classy and luxurious, they were by no means ostentatious. Take a look at what they have on their web site and you’ll see what I mean.
David Edward pride themselves on the quality of their products, the value-for-money relationships they foster, and their priority on customer, employee, and supplier satisfaction, as well as for their environmental and community awareness. That’s something that’s nice to know about them in addition to just being a good manufacturer of great-looking chairs.
